The Cousins by Karen M. McManus | Blog Tour Review
Today I’m happy to be a part of The Write Reads Ultimate blog tour for the highly anticipated, The Cousins by Karen M. McManus. Now, for a reader to be sucked into an author’s writing style, their narrative, they need the X-factor. Something that allows them to keep coming back…book after book. Karen M. McManus is no exception. There are so many reasons why I keep coming back for more with her stories. The air of mystery, the journey and most of all the care that is given to keep loyal readers. The Cousins is a story that is reminiscent of the I know what you did last summer trope. …

Strangers by C.L. Taylor | Review
How to describe a stranger? Someone you’ve yet to meet. Do they wish you ill harm or are they a person who lives along the same confines and laws as you? Strangers is three stories that interweaved with each other’s. A calming hand in a storm of pain? What do these three stories have in common – compassion, understanding an humility. Our three main protagonists Ursula, Gareth and Alice are lost souls swimming in a sea of pain and desperation. They are jaded with life – they’ve all been handed a shitty hand of cards. Sight Unseen was magical. It felt like a siren call. What mother hasn’t got to…

Neon by G.S. Locke | Blog Tour
Anyone that has stuck around this blog for any length of time knows that I’m an avid reader of psychological thriller but when a serious crime element is thrown in for good measure, you know I’m anyone’s. It wasn’t necessarily the twist that I was waiting for that made Neon so good but the devilishly dark narrative that the plot took on from the very first page. Not only is the death of a spouse a traumatic event, but for it to have been a targeted attack by the man you are actively investigating is a blow professionally and personally. I greedily accepted the blog tour invitation for Neon like…

Review: Foul Is Fair by Hannah Capin
Where do I begin with Foul is Fair? The premise of the story was one that had intrigued me wholeheartedly. A revenge thriller with a feministic twist. A classic retelling based upon Macbeth that became darker and darker the further you travelled through its pages. I want to include a trigger warning about the book before I go any further – It is a revenge tale after a sexual assault. The premise is one that I would have expected to grab me and hold me hostage but the preceding emotion it left me with is an uncontrollable anger – the narrative within the story could be quite dangerous. It unfortunately,…
