Sleep Alone by J.A.W. McCarthy
Sleep Alone gave me The Lost Boys vibes, sharp, atmospheric, and addictive. It grabs you by the genitals and doesn’t let go. A rock band. A merch girl. Starving Succubi. One sitting. An enraptured reader. Ronnie and her band of misfits. Life on the road can be lonely. She’s spent a life lonely, and she refuses to sleep alone anymore. When she meets the enigmatic band, she realises that they are everything she’s been searching for. They tour the pacific Midwest and their youthfulness and zest for life reminds Ronnie of a life gone by. She wants to tap into that once again, live carefree and they make her hungry…

Wrath of the Land by Oli Jacobs
Wrath of the Land reads like an invitation to Lovecraft’s love child. Accomplished storytelling that ensures that Jacobs has a revered seat at the horror table. Wrath of the Land is yet again another stellar outing by Oli Jacobs. I’m not sure just how this author keeps getting better and better, but he simply does. He has developed his own brand of comedy horror and I felt this story is his best yet. The writing style reminded me of A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I won’t ever get over the feeling of familiarity every time I read one of Jacob’s stories. It emits a sense of coming home after…

Interview with John Boden
John Boden lives a stones throw from Three Mile Island with his wonderful wife and sons. A baker by day, he spends his off time writing, working on Shock Totem or watching M*A*S*H re-runs. John Boden Welcome John, could you tell our readers a little bit about yourself? JB: I’m getting older, crankier… I live in a small town in Pennsylvania with my wife and our sons. My day job is as a bakery manager for a grocery chain. It…

Interview with Rowan Hill
Today we welcome Rowan Hill, horror author, an expert on the creeping unease, and an all-round good egg. Firstly, could you tell the readers a little about yourself? Good Morning! Oh well, where to start!? I am an author of horror and sci-fi with a deep love of the 80s. though am a product of the ’90s/00s. I grew up in Australia and America and have lived a little bit of everywhere since college. If I have time (and energy), I love art museums, hiking mountains, and (of course) writing! Your published novella, In the Arctic Sun, was particularly telling. It was one of my favourite reads of last year.…

How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix
How to Sell a Haunted House is essentially a story about loss and forgiveness. Buckle up because this one will put a needle through your eye to get your attention! How to Sell a Haunted House is a loaded title, it grabs your attention, doesn’t it? That was certainly one aspect of me reading this story but also the cover, the synopsis, and the fact it was written by Grady freaking Hendrix! So many different things aligned to make this a book that wouldn’t stop burrowing its tendrils into your mind. I just knew going into this book that it was going to be complex and atmospheric. I had high…

If you’ve been around this blog for any length of time, you’ll know that I love my horror. Horror of any description, be that cosmic horror, Folklore, creature or serial killer, i’m enticed by it all. So when I got the opportunity to be part of the cover reveal for Mark Simmons new release, BLED OUT, I jumped at the chance. Just judging it by the blurb proves to be a read that you’re going to want to get engrossed in right away. It promises to get right in about the psyche of a killer, and If we’re all being completely honest, who hasn’t thought about that? I think It’s…
