A Time of Blood by John Gwynne | Review

    October 18, 2020 /

Please allow me a moment to breathe before getting into the guts of my A Time for Blood review.  I absolutely fell in love with A Time for Dread but book two blew my mind.  I have the utmost respect for John Gwynne’s writing style and his prowess of delivering a story with such raw intensity.  It’s a completely different type of magic.  I’ve got so many ARC copies I need to read at the moment but I just couldn’t deny what the heart wants – and it wanted to carry on with this series just like the body needs oxygen to breathe!  Better a hard truth than a kind…

The Puppet Show (Washington Poe #1) by M.W. Craven

    September 23, 2019 /

Absolutely mind- blowing.  This book can only be described as feeling like your head is spinning clean off your head.  Craven is for sure one to watch. The synopsis is what first grabbed my attention.  When I’m truly in the mood for a crime novel, I have a list of things that I need to have in the storyline.  Serial Killers ✔️ a cantankerous detective ✔️ an absolutely amazing double-act ✔️ and a creepy as hell series of murders to solve – ✔️ oh hell yes.  Craven was on to a winner with that formula for sure!  Trust me, this is going to be one book you aren’t going to want…

Clear My Name by Paula Daly

    August 3, 2019 /

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own. Holy Mother of all that is decent!  Clear My Name was a heart stopper.  Do you want a book that’s going to suck you in from page one?  Do you want a book that tears up your conceptions and sets them alight?  Do you want a book that bins the rulebook on Thriller formulas?  Well look no further this book has it all in spades.  There are thrills galore, this is certainly not likened to a pair of comfy slippers this is a hellish pair of stilettos whilst you dodge a minefield…the…

Deserve to Die by Miranda Rijks

    August 1, 2019 /

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own. Thanks to Emma@Damppebbles for my spot on the blog tour. When Emma @ Damppebbles book tours sent out an email asking if there was interest in taking part in the blog tour for Deserve to Die I knew I just had to be involved.  The cover and the blurb just had all my thriller Spidey senses tingling.  The title spins a yarn of game playing, deceit, mental illness and past hurts.  You can change everything about yourself but only one thing is certain – you can never outrun your past.  A beautiful woman and a…

Voyager (Outlander #3) by Diana Gabaldon

    July 24, 2019 /

We continue onwards with Jamie and Claire’s story with Voyager.  Twenty years have passed since Claire passed back through the stones again leaving the love of her life behind and emerging back in the future Pregnant with Jamie’s daughter, Brianna.  Can an absent love survive the test of time?  A tale of a lost love, duty and pain.  I was really looking forward to getting stuck into this one but there was a few things that left me feeling supremely disappointed, this is upsetting as I was fully invested in Claire and Jamie’s story. I started this book over a week ago (this is an unusually large amount of time…
