What Makes a Good Book Review?
So what does make a good review? Is it really all about that glowing five-star review? Or is it about getting genuine honest feedback? I rarely give out 1 or 2-star reviews mainly because if I’m going to rate it that low, then I’m really not enjoying it, so why continue? Life is too short and there are way too many books out there to waste time on books that don’t work for me. Why Do So Many Women Enjoy Reading Domestic Thrillers?
Domestic thrillers have been on my radar for quite some time. My first dip into the genre came when I discovered Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson in 2012. It was the first domestic thriller that impacted me, and the plot has stayed buried in my psyche. I wasn’t new to the thriller genre, having devoured Karen Rose novels and detective stories before that. This felt new, invigorating, and frightening on some deeper primal level. Imagine waking up every morning in an unrecognisable bed, next to an unrecognisable man, and having that man explain that he is Ben, her husband and that she had an accident twenty years…

Diary Entry Of Gandalf The Grey. The Grey Vs. The Balrog.
Gandalf The Grey is dead. I, of course, knew that it would end this way. However, the fellowship needed to see the positivity, that indominable sense that good will prevail, but good doesn’t always win the battle. Good doesn’t always ride off into the sunset on a dashing, brilliant white stallion. Everything that is bad about this godforsaken earth injects its poison and spreads its plague as far as the eye can see. The shadows and the light. Nothing is safe from the rottenness that evil has permeated. The one ring to rule them all is no different. Power corrupts, and the ring maintains it. The fellowship is in chaos. …
