Review| Call Me Star Girl By Louise Beech
Call Me Star Girl. An intriguing title if ever there was one. A girl comfortable in the dark. A girl that ultimately becomes a product of her upbringing. Tragedy, survival, and a precious memento that brings light into the darkest of days. No childhood is perfect and for that matter neither is any mother. Hell, I’ve made mistakes in my journey as a mother but never for one second have, I ever imagined abandoning any of my children. This narrative was enticingly chilling – imagining a young impressionable child being left alone in the world longing for that connection with a parent and instead being faced with the selfishness of…

You know you are in trouble when your first thought after finishing an epic book is how on earth are you going to review it? How on earth can I do it justice? Never has dust been so visible. Review: The Argument by Victoria Jenkins
I absolutely adore stories focussed on relationships between teenage children and their parents. I love the nature of how both in the real world and in fiction they can turn into big sticky messes. There is no guidebook on how to navigate the murky waters of parenthood, but I would live in hope that we would all fare better than the events that take place in The Argument. The mother/daughter relationship is one that often falls foul to the trappings of clashing personalities and this story is no different. Be prepared to hear the painful ticking of the clock in the silence of everything that is left unsaid. In a…

Blog Tour: Nothing Important Happened Today by Will Carver
I’m in a complete state of book hangover inebriation. I’m overwhelmed, I’m mesmerised and I’m at a complete loss at Will Carvers incomparable skills. If you’re a music lover you can be completely in awe of a well-executed riff, this authors penmanship is the same. I am staring into space wondering how on earth I can pen this review. As far as I’m concerned Will Carver has earned his Godly status as The Crime/Thriller author. If you want a novel to touch you deeply whilst wrenching all the WTF’s you could possibly conjure within you, then Nothing Important Happened Today is the novel for you. Absolutely 100% my novel of…

Blog Tour: The Demons Beneath (D.I. Graves #1) by W.D. Jackson-Smart
Thanks to Emma for my place on the blog tour and the author for a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own. Wow wow wow. This book was such a surprise. Blew me literally off my feet. It’s such an exhilarating ride when you come across an author you haven’t even heard of that is knocking it clean out of the park. The writing, the storytelling, clever twists and turns, and an explosive ending. Do you want to immerse yourself into a genuinely accurate but a rollercoaster ride of emotions and fear, buckle up this will leave you aching for more. Good news, the author will be releasing…
