The Court Of Miracles by Kester Grant | Review
Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Voyager for an ARC of The Court Of Miracles. A retelling you say? A mash-up between The Jungle Book and Les Misérables? That was an instant moment of hell yes, I am reading that! The Court Of Miracles is the first book in what is anticipated to be a three-book series and boy if the other two can deliver on what Book 1 has done then Kester Grant is on to a winner. This Young Adult Fantasy brought everything to the table and more. Espionage. Political intrigue. Double crossing. The story flew through me much like an elegant swan preparing for flight. It was smooth…

Who’s There? by Kerena Swan @BOTBSPublicity
Thank you to Sarah for my spot on the blog tour. All thoughts are my own and unbiased. How many times did our parents tell us never to talk to strangers? If your parents were anything like mine, it was too many times to count. This is the main theme at play in Who’s There? This is just easier said and done for a character like Arnold Eastwood, a naturally trusting young man with Downs Syndrome. He dreams of having his own independence after years living and relying on his mother. He knows he can do it. He wants to do it. The time has come, he has been offered…

Review: The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood
Well I totally feel behind the trend on this one, but I decided to give it a go. It’s been on my TBR for such a long time but I’m really not a hyped book kind of person, so I don’t know exactly what I was expecting. It was an eye opener in a lot of ways. I can see a huge amount of significance and realism in the elements of the book. In such a technologically advanced world I shouldn’t even believe that things could manifest itself into the events of The Handmaid’s Tale, but there you have it. Women have no rights. No sexual rights to do with…

Review: The Other Gloria by L.A Villafane
This is my review of the incredibly beautiful novel, The Other Gloria by L.A. Villafane. Following on from a very chilling first chapter, being introduced to Gloria was reminiscent of an out of body experience. She enimates the aura of a ghost trying to find her way into the afterlife. Its chilling, eerie and claustrophobic. It set the tone for the entirety of the novel, there was an undercurrent of fear and worry, it was addictive, and it left me with palpitations. The things Gloria had to endure broke me. It felt akin to reading about the pain a close friend was going through. It kept me on my toes…
