Shadows of Hell by Duncan Thompson | Blog Tour Review

    April 5, 2021 /

Sometimes, just sometimes, you know instantly when a series is going to become a favourite.  The Shadows series by Duncan Thompson is just that.  Shadows in Hell is the sequel to the brilliant Shadows in the Woods novel.  Features Dante’s Divine Comedy – Check A battle of good vs evil – Check Hard hitting themes such as grief and forgiveness – Check Thompson once again utilizes the short sharp shock in delivering at times a hilarious but dark installment.  One event changed several people’s worlds, but one person’s actions saved the world.  It paints a vivid picture of how the strands of connection between characters is unbreakable, even when in…

Abberton House by Debbie Ioanna | Blog Tour

Abberton House gave me serious cover love.  A house has an impact upon its environment and in this story’s case – the families too.  An imposing shadow, a constant watcher through time.  A gothic horror that is perfect for the start of spooky season – definitely one to add to your never-ending TBR pile.  A story to unnerve you, because instantly you get a creeping sense of dread, red alarm going off in your head, an itch you can’t scratch but I was absolutely here for it.  Once again, Panther Publishing are knocking it out of the park with their horror line and are fast becoming my go to indie…

Shadows Of The Woods by Duncan Thompson | Blog Tour

    July 23, 2020 /

Shadows Of The Woods is like a bullet to the jugular!  Holy crap this book was good!  The title gives us insight into two sides of the same coin.  A shadow instantly made me think of the claustrophobia, the darkness creeping in ready to take us.  One misstep, the sound of twigs being snapped underfoot…was it someone out there or our active imagination?  My gut feeling whilst starting this book was that shit was going to hit the fan fairly quickly…boy was I right?!  The opening was both sweet and utterly destructive.  A marriage proposal whilst out camping with the backdrop of fireworks, dead romantic, right?  Well, in any other…

Thanks to Emma for my place on the blog tour and the author for a copy of the book.  All thoughts are my own.  Wow wow wow.  This book was such a surprise.  Blew me literally off my feet.  It’s such an exhilarating ride when you come across an author you haven’t even heard of that is knocking it clean out of the park.  The writing, the storytelling, clever twists and turns, and an explosive ending.  Do you want to immerse yourself into a genuinely accurate but a rollercoaster ride of emotions and fear, buckle up this will leave you aching for more.  Good news, the author will be releasing…
