The Girl With All the Gifts by M.R. Carey | Review
The Girl with All The gifts. I really don’t know why it took me so long to get around to this one because it was simply amazing. I don’t know what I was expecting but this really wasn’t it. I think it made me feel everything so intensely because it was centred around the protagonist, a young child called Melanie. I raced ahead; everything was just so engaging that by the time I reached the end I felt wrought with emotional exhaustion. The zombie apocalypse seen through the eyes of a child. It really was a fresh and interesting take on the zombie novel. I’m a wee bit of a…

We Ride The Storm by Devin Madson | Book Review.
Jesus Christ on a bike! We Ride the Storm was a novel that was pure adrenaline. Storm Noun a tumultuous reaction; an uproar or controversy. There is no disillusion hidden behind the pretext of name. This book is a storm, and it aims to rile you up, as quickly as possible. This story aims to shake up the fantasy genre and it does that and more. Its an underrated gem that gleams, and the reader can’t help but fall deep for the magnificent prose and authentic worldbuilding. The author doesn’t beat around the bush and she is happy to cut your throat in the first chapter and not even be…

Review| Legacy Of Ash (Legacy Trilogy #1) by Matthew Ward
Massive thanks to Orbit books for my review copy of Legacy of Ash. I’m a complete junkie for all things dark fantasy and grimdark and this lit a fire within my core in which every page I raced through kept stoking. The first book in the series, aptly named Legacy. This is a serious Tome sitting at 800 pages. It felt like I had the fantasy bible in my hands, every page sucked me in and enraptured my imagination. An extremely imaginative and ambitious debut with a whole new magic system, ancient kingdoms locking swords and world building so intricate and memorable that its imprint left a tattoo on the…

Review: The Last Days of Jack Sparks by Jason Arnopp
The Last Days of Jack Sparks is definitely an odd book. The supernatural is a powerful force to be reckoned with but Jack Sparks ego revolves around the sun. if you are going into this book expecting a terrifying book, you are going to be disappointed. The scenes within are expected especially if you mess around with the paranormal and exorcisms. It is essentially a satirical/ black comedy novel. The destruction of Jack’s ego. The result of not having an open mind. Its karma coming back to bite him on the ass. He’s gone through his entire life treating everyone close like rubbish…well he’s about to get a taste of…

Blog Tour: Ghoster by Jason Arnopp
Thanks to Tracey @ Compulsive Readers and the publisher for my spot on the blog tour and a copy of the book. My review is unbiased an honest. I’ve been lucky enough recently to be on some pretty amazing blog tours and the books have mostly been 4 or 5 star reads, and Ghoster is no different, another 5-star read. Ghoster brings to the table an original plot, well executed characters and the opening chapter leaves you gasping for more. I knew this was going to be a great read, but I wasn’t prepared just how much this book was going to have crapping myself. This book reminds so very…
