The Marriage Retreat by Laura Elliot
The Marriage Retreat is a story about grief, pain, and a tangled web of deceit. I usually love a domestic thriller especially from Bookouture, but this failed to hit the mark for me. I had a few problems with it mainly the believability of the story. Now, as a reader I know that you need to suspend a fair bit of disbelief in reading, but I did feel that certain aspects just weren’t the actions of a rational human even during the fog of grief. The story follows Lorraine and Victor, the owners of the well renowned marriage retreat, Serenity Falls. It’s a roaring success with only a few failures…

I Know Who You Are by Alice Feeney
I Know Who You Are is a intricately crafted story of deceit and betrayal. It delivers an important message at its heart – never be as trusting as your heart wants to be. Darkly sinister and a level of unease that kept me rooted to the spot. Some novels were just written so that they make there way to you just at the right time. I Know Who You Are is just one of those novels. I’ve been stuck in a bit of a rut for a few weeks now. I’ve been reading but nothing was particularly hitting the mark. I needed drama, I needed action, I needed a good…

The Creeper by A.M. Shine – REVIEW
The Creeper scared the living crap out of me. A.M. Shine pulls out all the stops to make you realise that the dark is where evil lies, and where evil lies death will surely follow. His pure storytelling isn’t easily matched. The Creeper is one of the most phenomenal horror stories I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing. I’m not going to lie I’ve sat on this review for four days – how would I find the words to do it justice? How could I describe the plot which had me gripping my kindle with a force that could rival the hulks? Nothing will be enough to highlight the story’s vice…

Blog Tour Review: The Watchers by A.M. Shine
The Watchers was a punch to the jugular. This was a quick read, I had to find out what was going to happen next. The author pulled out the rug from under me on more than one occasion. A must-read for the spooky season!

Under Your Skin by Rose McClelland|Blog Tour
Oh my gosh, it really is a bit of magic when just a few pages into a novel that you concur that you have something quite special being shared with you. That is exactly what Under Your Skin is. The book community has been raving about this story but somehow, I just didn’t appreciate just how powerful and how much of an impact it would have upon me. I’m very wary of hyped books but in this case, the hype hasn’t been enough. This book crackles with electricity with every page turn. Reading this story is a sound investment. It is medicine for your cerebral cortex. It’s worth the emotion…

Blog Tour: The Secrets He Kept by Jackie Walsh
Thank you to Sarah from Books on the Brightside publicity and the publisher for my spot on the blog tour and the arc of the book. My review is unbiased and honest. Books in the Psychological Thriller genre are my absolute favourite and the secrets he kept was an instalove affair with the cover, its intriguing and atmospheric and it didn’t disappoint. How can I put into words just how this book made me feel? Well the only way is, Alice falling into the rabbit hole. This analogy is I’m sure accurate for Sally who ends up having her world destroyed at its axis. At first glance Sally seems to…
