The Shadow Gate by L.L. MacRae
The Shadow Gate is yet another phenomenal outing from Macrae. She has a way of turning words into gold. A freshly imagined world and a fantastical plot full of twits and turns. The Shadow Gate is the long-awaited sequel to The Iron Crown which I enjoyed immensely. I was left hungering for more – characterisation, world building and a plot tighter than two coats of paint left me itching to know what would happen next. There was always something special about it, it was always evident that others would feel the same…

Review: The Iron Crown by L. L. MacRae
The Iron crown is an ethereal vision of adventure and female badassery. Fenn has been cursed by the Myr. He can’t remember anything; He has no memories of where he’s come from, no memories of friends or family and he doesn’t know if he’s been put on this earth to do good or bad. The story takes off at such a pace I was quickly lacing up my Nikes and racing for the finish line. “The Dragons are the guardians of tessar, spirits of life of guidance and protection. Sorcery Of A Queen by Brian Naslund | Review

The magic, the dragons, the relationships and the tongue-in-cheek humour. Brian Naslund has this inert skill to just know the formula for have the brain completely enraptured…

Blood of an Exile by Brian Naslund | Review
Great holy Zeus! Blood Of An Exile packs a powerful punch, and this debut punch is a knockout! This book has the capability of just burrowing under your skin and taking root there. The plot is thick, enriching and complex. This story is completely character driven and it knows exactly how you tick! We have a glorious magic system that enriches the narrative, but it isn’t the main focus, which I have found to be a refreshing change. Blood Of An Exile has fired up my synapses and it will stay with me for the long-term – in all its raw complexity. Dragons are my favourite magical creatures in fantasy,…
