The Be A Good Human Book Tag

This tag was originally created a good few years ago by the lovely Jen Campbell. Please go and check some of her Youtube videos and blog content out, it’s very insightful.

I’m going to talk about the books that made me a better person. Books have that funny way of connecting with you, hitting that chord that just resonates. How many books have you just GOT and knew that it had affected you profoundly and knew you wouldn’t just be able to forget. If the answer is yes then strap in, I’m about to take you through the books did that did just that for me.

Thinking In Pictures by Temple Grandin

As a mother to a child with Autism this book was perfect. It gave significant insight into an individual with autism but also talking about the challenges and truimphs she has acomplished during her life. It is a beautiful read and it had moved me to tears.

Stay Mad, Sweetheart by Heleen Kist

wow, wow wow. This is a book that needs to be read by woman and men alike. It’s an extremely relevant and important novel in the times of the #metoo movement. This is a novel that would make anyone a better person.

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

Well if anyone knows me well, they know I’m not about to start burning books. The context of burning wisdom (books) means that freedom is gone too. They’d know nothing and they would just be existing day to day in relative ignorance. A scary portrayal of a world gone wrong.

1984 by George Orwell

One of the scariest reads I think I have ever read. It melts your brain with the constant what ifs. This book blew my mind…the scariest part is is that our society could quite easily become like this. We are edging towards an uncaring and violent uprising.

A Game Of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

JUST BECAUSE…How can this series not make you a better person.

What books have made you become a good human? Any that have made this list? Let me know in the comments.

  1. These are some great picks, I agree about most of these books (well, all that I’ve read). But 1984 is the absolute winner here and one of the books that I think everyone should read. After all, it has many similarities with the real 1980s (which is amazing cause it was written in the 1940s) and we all should be aware how easy it is for the society to turn like that.
