EXCERPT
The priest tore himself from her grasp and noisily clattered from the booth, tripping over his robes as he did so. He fell forwards, sprawling on the floor and his glasses skidded out of reach. Stepping out of the booth, Nova calmly reached down and plucked the glasses from the floor, rubbing them across her dress to clean the dust away, kneeling down she placed them upon the priest’s crooked nose, smiling as his eyes widened at the sight before him. Teeth bared and brow furrowed, Nova towered over Father Abraham, speaking coldly, “Am I still worth saving Father?” Abraham stared blankly up at her pale face, swallowing hard.
“Am I still a meek, innocent child that god will pat on the head like a little puppy or am I simply the Evil that you fear the most. The one that walks and talks alongside mankind, wearing a human face but bearing the scars of the dead.” She licked her lips as the priest stared at her in horror. The darkness that was once buried deeply within was now roaring, free and untamed, it crept along her veins, filling her pores with rage.
